Default The Case of The Loose Tranny.

My 83 944 feels like it has play in the drive line when I give it gas and when I let of the gas. No noise really, other than the clunk I get when it reaches each end of the slackening feeling. Can you tell me if it's in my trans, drive shaft tube, or the clutch? I know it's not the CV joints. They were already checked. I've been driving it like that for a while now, so I'm sure it won't be long before something worse happens to it. I've heard that the clutch has some kind of rubber plate or bushings that wear out. Could it be that? I've been pricing transmissions, but I really hope it's something cheaper to fix than that! Any help would be greatly accepted Thank you!

Check your upper transmission to body mounts.
