So here's my problem: I tried jump starting my truck a while back with the Porsche, and ever since the voltage light has been on and now the car sporadically won't start.

I have a drain somewhere on my battery that I can't track down. I had a good battery, but trashed the negative post from taking it off/putting it on so much. Then I tried jumping the truck. I thought the battery post had just finally completely broken, so I put a new battery in. The volt light is still on, but the car started twice right after I put the new battery in, but didn't start the next morning. It's turning over, but won't fire up. I've had the alternator checked since the voltage light came on, but not since the new battery. Could it be the alternator (voltage) regulator?

It's getting gas to the fuel rail. It almost seems like it might be a spark problem-but the problem seemed to stem from the charging problems. Any ideas?

 

When you tried to just start the truck, it may have fried your DME!!

 

A couple weeks ago, I went to the junkyard and scooped up another coil, dist. cap and set of plug wires none of which fired the car up. So today I finally had some time to wrench on it, and it fired right up. WTF?!? Would a DME fail intermittently like that?

 

I guess use of an alternator can be pretty good. IT helps ur car battery to replace another battery for a longer time.

 

It's possible that the solder joints are cracking in your DME and not always making a good connection. Also sometimes the if you have a no start, unplug and reinsert the reference sensors, may be time for new connectors!!
