Default clutch spring

I reciently purchased a 1984 944. Had some issues. The previous owner said just before parking the car (2 years ago) that the clutch was slipping. When I engaged the clutch pedal, it went all the way to the floor. I looked up under the dash and noticed a spring missing at the end of the clutch pedal. I was wanting to replace the spring and bleed the system this weekend, however I won't be able to get a replacement spring for more than a week. If I were to buy a spring (from a local automotive parts store) what length and strength would I purchase. Any thoughts on this? Or should I simply wait the 2weeks for a replacement?
