Default Coupling?

I am in dire need of assistance here. I have a problem with my 83 944. It has an auto tranny if that helps at all. I need to know the name for the part that transfers power from the engine to the driveshaft. It is a round piece of metal with rubber inside. It is around 12" in diameter and maybe 1" in thickness. The drivershaft fits in the center of this piece. I want to say it is the coupling but when I went to order the part I am getting conflicting stories. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is a "damper plate" that connects the torque tube to the transmission,

I checked my parts cd it looks like that is a "converter mounting" if the part number is 421 107 03, This cd calls the damper plate what would normally be the fly wheel.
