electric fan draining battery
my electric fan stays on after car has been driven and drains the battery everytime, I unhooked the fan for now but car runs alot hotter. any suggestions on what to replace and where it is located at? thanks.
hi, my '88 turbo had exactly the same problem. in my case, it was the fan relay, which is in the fuse box. you can unplug it to stop the fan (the diagram on the fuse box cover will tell you which one) but you'll need to replace it for it to run properly, an easy fix. hope that helps.
Sam Shalala at Protechnik in Houston diagnosed it in 30 sec and plugged in a new one, all is well.

Replace your fan switch first on the radiator, as that is about 20 bucks. The fan relay is pretty expensive IIRC, but can definitely cause those symptoms as well.
