Okay so after fixing the windshield wipers, alternator, starter, several fuses, a vaccuum problem, oil change, spark plugs, radiator, ignition wires, new timing belt, a full wash, wax and interior cleaning, and about a million other things fixed on my car something else goes wrong and I'm at a loss.

It developed sometime after putting in the new wiper control on my 83 944. I reassembled the column and now, whattya know, the key won't turn in the ignition. At all. Nothin, zilch, nada. I pulled it apart, put it back together, and the same thing. And I have no idea what the heck the problem is.

Any ideas?

Did you try turning the steering wheel left and right while trying to turn the key. Sounds like it is just locked one way or the other.

Yeah I started turning the steering wheel and it was locked. It's REAL finicky about that. Which is weird though because I never did it once until I put on the new wiper control and now it seems to do it an auwful lot.
