hi,i have an 88 944 lux,how do i drop it at the back?</P>

new adjustable coilovers, check ebay... they usually only cost a hundred or so dollars for all four springs

You can drop it at the back by the eccentric bolt on the trailing arm. Should give you about an inch or so. 944's handle alot better with the rear lowered. They were put a little high to meet US regs on bumper height.

What they didnt tell you was that it is a big job. If you add coil overs , you have to remove the torsion bars. If you want , you can also lower by going another notch on the torsion bar itself. Either way, you need to drop the rear off of the car which is a good days work.</P>


I have done it when I added 25.5 mm turbo torsions to my 83 944. I also heard that the shock point/bracket was not designed for the extra load that a coil over set up offers.</P>

The rear eccentric bolts are a major PITA to mess with. Get a really good breaker bar and have fun getting it under there. Torque spec is like 300 ft-lb IIRC.
