From what i understood, if you lower the car from the rear only, you would have two problems. 1) Car would handle in an oddly manner and 2) It would look silly.

A general rule is that lowering the car anything between 1"-1.5" front and rear is the max, unless you mod the suspention completely (real coils, stiffer springs/shocks, bushing etc) which is a different case.........

Cheers..mint

Two ways to lower the rear end. One is by the eccentic adjustment located on the spring plates. This method is only going to lower or raise the car a total of .75". The eccetric has around 1 inch of travel total. So the best it will lower the rear is close to 3/4". This was placed on the car for USA rear ride height standards. USA specs require a higher rear ride height. Euro is not as high so if you own a Euro 944 it may be reasonably low as is. There are 2 hex bolts one is the eccentric adjustment the other a lockdown. This is a fairly straight forward adjustment and can be done in little time/effort.

The other method is to reindex the torsion bars by moving the spring plate up or down and re aligning the splines on one end. Each bars has 2 different counts of splines one larger than the other. By pulling the spring plate off and moving it in a upward direction lowers the car. This is not a job for the average DIY'er but can be done. There are a couple of ways to reindex, from dropping the entire rear torsion carrier to reindexing while carrier is on the car. Either takes some skill and patience. I tried to keep this as basic as possible for you to get an idea however there is much to consider/know if doing the reindex. If your mechanical knowledge is beyond basics I can elaborate more later.

I hope this helps you.
