Default my new/old 944

Hey all,

just picked up an old 83 944 last night. The engine was recently rebuilt, the body has been mostly preped for new paint, the interior is trashed, and the brakes/wheel bearings/suspension needs attention. Going to be a fun winter project!!

Anyway, I have a couple questions, and was hoping you all might help.

1) I know the front right wheel bearing and pads are shot. I'm going to fix that, but was wondering if there's anything else i should look at fixing while doing that job (since i'm in there anyway).

2) The rear tires have some negative camber to them. Is this normal for a 944? Also, the rear sinks a lot under acceleration. What can i do to fix this?

3) I sawa good deal on some Koni adjustable rear shocks from an 86 944 turbo. Would these fit on my 83 NA 944?

4) what are bumper shocks?

5) anyone know where i can find some clips that lock down the sunroof? One of mine is broken.

Thanks for any help you all can give!!!
Sincerely,
Shamus

1. I would check tie rods and ball joints, just because you have a better view.
2. The camber should be good on the rear ties, the sinking is likely due to bad shocks.
3. They wont fit.
4. Bumper shocks are shocks that attach the bumpers to the car. single bolt on the bumper end and a plate with two bolts that mount to the car unibody. These absorb impactif hitting things at low speed, and help if you actually get in a crash.
5. DCAuto - http://dcauto.gotdns.com/catalog/ind...&model=944
or 944 online http://www.944online.com/
