Default OIL PRESSURE PROBLEM

I HAVE AN OIL PRESSURE PROBLEM WITH MY '82 944

THE MAIN PROBLEM WITH THE CAR IS THAT WHEN IT WARMS UP IT LOOSES ALMOST ALL OIL PRESURE.THE OIL PRESSURE IS FINE WHEN COLD.

DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THIS COULD BE AND HOW TO RECTIFY IT?

Default RE: OIL PRESSURE PROBLEM

I take it that when you say "fine when the car is cold," that means the gauge is maxed out, or at/above 5 bar where it stays pegged. As you drive, the needle drops as the car warms up. Where exactly is the needle falling to? At idle when the car is warm, it should be about 2 bar, and it should go back up to 4-5 bar at roughly 3500 rpms. Anything below that is probably indicative of rod bearings needing to be replaced. How many miles are on the car?

A normal situation, the oil pressure will stay pegged at 5 bar not really moving at all during driving, then after about 15 minutes or so, it will fall to 2 bar at idle, and go up and down from there depending on rpms.

The factory spec is "better than 3.5 bar of pressure at 3000rpm". Any updates on this one?
