SpeedO no work
Gurus
Don't know what's going on but could use some advice. For the last couple of weeks the speedometer in my 86 turbo has been acting up. At times it works just fine. Sometimes it registers nothing then it will pop on and start working fine for the rest of the trip. A couple of times it never started. For the last 3 trips it's never come on at all. When it works both the speedometer and the odometer work fine, when it doesn't work neither meter is working. It never storpped working once it started, but as now is the case it is not working at all.
Any suggestions???
Thanks
RL

RE: SpeedO no work
Thanks
When I checked the connection, the sending unit was actually in two pieces. The plug is connected to the top of the unit but just bellow the narreled section the sending unit came apart. When I looked at the bottom of the unit where it cam apart it looked like a printed circuit board with three 1/4 inch electrical connections. I've ordered a replacement sending unit, but have you heard of anything like this? And since the narreled section is not a part of the unit that is still connected to the tranny, any suggestions on how to unscrew the base section?
Thanks
I tried embeding a picture of the unit to show what I mean, but this web site shows a picture of the unit. I spererated at the notch on the side of the body just below the top of the section used to hold the unit when screwing it in.
