RE: Spray painting?
Its all about your preperation. Sand down from low grit all the way to 1000grit wet and dry. Spray a thin coat of primer and look down the panel to see if you need to sand down any area you missed. Then spray thin coats of primer to avoid runs and wet&dry it one last time.
Get yourself a paint gun if you can and some black cellulose paintand some high gloss thinners. 50/50 mix and make sure you gun is clean.
Apply 2 or 3 thin coats, build the layers up to avoid runs again. give 20 mins between coats then let dry for a day or 2.
1500 or higher wet & dry with plenty of water. This will make the finish dull but will even the surface. Then buy some G3 compound and a buffer. Buffer the area with G3 and water. Let it dry and then wipe clean. And last but not least buff with a sheep skin mop.
Ive just resprayed my 944 with cellulose on my driveway and the finish is awesome, such a good shine and thats without a lacquer coat. Im not to sure if they hadlacquer from the factory.
Hope this helps
