Hi all,

My wife was driving the 944 home last night and the shifter became stuck in 3rd gear. It's definitely not a hydraulic or clutch problem - the clutch releases just fine and the car will roll with the clutch pedal depressed. When I tried to shift out of third, it feels like it's just jammed solid - can't move the shifter at all. The shifter doesn't feel any different, so I don't think that anything has become disconnected. Also, we got the car home OK in 3rd gear so hopefully I can get under it to take a look this weekend to see what's going on.

Any suggestions as to what to look for? I'm going to disconnect the linkage back at the transaxle and see what's going on, but beyond that I'm not sure what else to check...

 

i am having the same problem but mine is stuck in 4th gear and i dont know what is wrong... have you figured it out yet if so i would love any info you can give me
