Hey Folks,
To all those considering the purchase of a cheap Porsche 944, may you heed the words of our learned mentor Doc who says, "There's nothing more expensive than buying a cheap Porsche!" ...I am now nearing $7,000 in repairs and service in a 3 year love/hate relationship with my '84. $2,500 last week just restoring 'some' of the front suspension alone. Wheel bearings, lower steering column shaft (due to upper and lower joint fatigue), all bushings, ball joints, 4 wheel alignment and 'Road Force' 4 wheel balance. Took the car out on the highway today to find at 60mph+ the steering still wanders and pulls to the crown with a little shaking thrown in to really get me crazy! And my wife is going to torch the garage with the car in it when she hears that I am starting to hear and feel a shutter in the rear end when I begin to release the clutch in 1st gear.
"Ya they sure are nice looking cars ...but holy f*#* are they expensive!"
