Hi all,
I'm going to need new street tires for my '89 944 turbo soon, but it looks like nobody makes the standard rear size (245/45-16) in street tires anymore.

My local tire guy says I can go with what appear to be the 944 S2 OE tires - 205/55-16 front and 225/50-16 rear. Is this correct, or will they be too narrow? Best I can tell, the S2 had 16x8" wheels on the back, while the turbo has 16x9".

Would I be better off getting new 17" wheels to access a broader range of tires?

Anyone else dealt with this problem?
