RE: turbo a N/A?
Thanks
Sorry but I had to go and ask other too! This is what else I discoved after a post on rennlist in the 944 Turbo/s Form!
944S: (1987-1988)
2.5 liter 16-valve DOHC motor, 188hp, 170 ft lbs @ 4300 rpm.
non-turbo body
non-turbo suspension and brakes
944S2: (1989-1991)
3.0 liter 16-valve DOHC motor, 208hp, 207 ft lbs @ 4100rpm.
turbo body
turbo suspension and brakes
While 20hp seems to be a very little difference, it's the torque that made the difference. In the 944S, you had to rev the motor to near redline to extract any power from it, but with the S2, with its bigger displacement, there was much more torque available at lower rpm's.

RE: turbo a N/A?
Yea, the S's are nothing to really shake a stick at...ok power, old NA body style, etc. But the S2 on the other hand makes a great daily driver due to the extra torque and the updated body style, bigger brakes, etc. Which is why they have been holding their value well.
