voltage regulator
does anybody know how to install a late 85 944's voltage regulator the right way? and for the alternator wirings aswell? my 944 was having start up problems and it allways needed to be jumped everyday. and everytime i turn the car off i need to jump start it again. i changed the battery with a new one and still does the same thing. so my such good friend thought he's do me a favor and decided to clean out the wiring and connections on the alternator. now the car would not start at all and would not show any lights on the instrumental panel and i hear some weird noises at the battery. can some body help me with this one? thanks!
yes, i did check it but my friend said he might have put the regulator back on the wrong way when he took it off to clean it. or is there no way that you could install that regulator the wrong way?
Hmm I can't remember on that particular alternator if you can install it backwards or not. I can check when I get back in town next week though. Are you sure he hooked both wires up on the back of the alternator when he put everything back together?
