I have a 1988 944 Turbo. I am going to convert it to a V8 simply because I am sick of the stock engine. Last fall the ECM went out and I just figured it would be a good time to do something different.

I have a fresh Chevy 383 stroker waiting for a car, so I thought what the heck

So what is a Turbo engine with 65K worth if I wanted to sell it. Nothing wront with it, ran damn good and compression was great.

Provided the compression and leak down numbers are good, anywhere from 1500-2000.

 

Would you be interested in selling the whole car or are you dead set on the engine swap?

 

I would sell the car if I could get $3000 for it.

Why does that car have an NA front end if it is a turbo?

 

The pervious owner had gotten into a accident, and wanted to fix it as cheap as possible, so he baught the non-turbo front end for it. It was a good sleeper car before because from the front people never thought it was a turbo, but the rear end is still the turbo setup.

if it's only got 65k on it the rest of the car should be in good shape. Why would you think you could not get 3k for it? Unless it's trashed or the collision was not repaired right it's prob worth atleast 12-14 looking at what is out there right now running and clean with those miles on it...

 

12-14, probably not a chance he would ever get anything that high. The fact that it was hit in the front end and had to have an NA front bumper, fenders, header panel, and headlight covers put on greatly decreases the value of the car. Even with the turbo nose, 10-11 is about all you can expect. With the body work, i would venture to guess 7k maybe.
