Default Wheel/Tire Question

Hi everyone! I'm thinking about getting 18" wheels and tires on my 89' 944 Turbo. I saw some 944s with the twisties and it caught me. Anyway, I've done a bunch of searching and it seems like there is a lot of other factors to consider such as clearance of the brakes and wheel wellsand then offsets as well. I do know thatPorsches use the 5x130 lug pattern.

My current wheels are 16x7 and 16x9 with offsets of 65 and 60 and225/50/16 and 245/45/16from front to rear respectively. The words are bold and italicized so that you can match the fronts and rear measurements better =).

- My question is what 18' wheels/tires canI put on my 944 Turbo without any problems?
- Whatare the widest wheels I can get?
- The issue of offsets are confusing me a bit so whatminimum offset to maximum offsetcan I get with a wheel(s) with a specific width?
- Preferably, wheels without spacers would be ideal but, it would be fine if I had to use them, so please let me know if I need spacers and what width. Do spacers pose any problems (vibration, fitment)?
- Lastly, what tire measurements can go along with the wheels with the specific widths?

Any comments, suggestions and recommendations of what kind of rims and tires I should get will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

[align=left]If you go to 18" wheels, apart from the wheels, you should upgrade to 968 caster blocks in the front also.

The guys at Wheel Enhancement know this stuff inside and out. If you're a PCA member you'll see their advertisements in Porsche Panorama every month.
