Where do I start with this 951?
So my old man drove this 88' 951 into the ground then proceeded to park it in a shed for 5 years.... To my knowledge the reason it was parked is because the brakes were TOTALLY shot and he didnt want to replace them. BUT the car is basically shot it has 280k on the clock.
I am looking for a project car for the winter. I started the car about a year ago and it fired right up with rough idle. Now one year later when I turn the key all the way over to start absolutely nothing happens, I cannot hear the fuel pump nor does the starter engage. I do remember using the boost setting last year onmy huge battery chargerto start it and I just recently read that you can fry your DME doing so.
SO what is your guys take? Here is a list of things I have gathered:
1. Fried DME
2. Fried DME relay
3. Burnt out starter/fuel pump
4. All wiring shot to hell from mice
Your input is greatly appreciated!
-Thank you

She definately has potential. All of the above could be a possibility but, try the cheap fixes before you jump in head first. You know like battery, fuel pump, starter and definately look through your wiring. Also, look at replacing your speed sensors before your DME....made that pricey mistake long ago. And definately look at replacing your timing belt before you startgetting that thing to idle. Hope some of this may help you out.
