50th Anniversary - $'s well spent ??
Hey gang
Turning 50 soon and seriously believe I deserve a Boxster. Outgrew my 66 mustang after 30 +/- years of ownership.
I like the 2004 "Special" S 50th anniversary model. Question is would you pay extra bucks to pick up one of the 1953 units builtfor 2004 or would you get the best bang for your buck by purchasing as new a model year as you could for the same money?
I am a "buy and hold" type of guy. I'd like to think my first Boxster will be my last = five month driving period equates to not too many miles being enjoyed.
"Future value" considered, where would you put your money?
Hey - I'm just under 6' 2" - kinda curious to know how the cockpit "fit" would be, as well.
Your thoughts/input appreciated.
Cheers

Hi, Kootenay, 2004 and after 2005 are built difference, most people I talk to perferr the model year after 2005, unless you like the 04 look, I would go for the 05, 06, 07.
Do you know the major difference between the 04 and 05+?

Thx for that - I realize '05 is "next generation" but unsure as to what that "totally" means vs. '04(??)
What attracts me most to the Boxster, vs say a Honda or BeeMer, etc. is front and back "trunks" for my golf clubs, etc. Anybody having success carying two sets of golf clubs and luggage for two to do some long trips?
Also, I have never actually sat in the cockpit - 6'1+" 215 lbs - will I "fit"?
Nearest Porsch dealer is 250 miles away - not too likely to get much of a chance to do "scratch 'n sniff" experience in a Boxster before I buy - due dilligence in advance is best I can do.
Your thoughts/input appreciated.

Hi, Kootenay canuck, there are a lots of difference
For example, 04 has a spare tire, 05 does not
04 cannot operate the convertible while the car is moving, 05 can.
More power in the 05
Larger air intake in the 05
I need two trunks, that is why I pick the Boxster, I think Boxste has the must cargo space when come to convertible.
I am not sure you can fit two set of golf clubs in the back trunk, 07 model they get rid of the bucky thing inside the back trunk (Engine oil access area, etc) the trunk is a bit bigger.
You must go down and test drive it..... no advise can bit the test drive.
Good luck.
