Default Air Bag Light

Hi All,
My airbag light has been on for a while, but my airbags never discharged. My mechanic does not have the software to read the problem, only Dealers carry this software...

Any advice on how to avoid the Dealership?

Well, clearing the code is the issue. You either need the PIWIS or PST2 from the dealer, or find someone with the durametrics software. If you were local, I could clear it for you. There are a TON of aftermarket porsche shops that have software that can clear the light, you might try some other independent shops in your area. Unfortunately, the airbag light is one that will not clear by disconnecting the battery, etc.

The problem is almost always either the drivers or passenger seat belt buckle. The part is less than $100 and is pretty easy to install.

Hey Doc,
Thanks for your help! Would you happen to know/have the part number?

Best,
Craig
