Boxster Grille
Hey doc,
quick question.. Is there a way to pop the grill out on the boxster without taking apart the bumper? I scanned the bentley manual and seems like you have to take the bumper out.. kinda scared to ply it out.. might break.
thanks in advance

RE: Boxster Grille
I just had a warranty repair done on my 987S that involved replacement of the heat exchanger grills and they had to remove the bumper to do it. Ask me how I know?
Because they scratched the front fender doing it.
I would suggest protecting both edges before proceeding.

RE: Boxster Grille
Bumper is easy to remove, and is required to remove the grills. I use some red fender tape I get from wurth, and run a strip on the corners of the front fenders to prevent scratching the fenders. Coming off is no problem, but you should have a second pair of hands when putting it back together so you don't scratch anything.

Thanks but I know my limitations and leave all paint work to experts. The dealer has ordered what they feel will make it right and if I can see the repair the panel will have to be completely painted. I can't believe they found a spot in between the edge of the headlamp and the "clear bra" to scratch
