Default iPod adapter?

All,

I am looking for a clean way to connect my iPod to the factory radio in my 01 Boxster (factory radio). FM transmitter is not an optoin. In my city there are no open frequencies. Plus, audio quality is important to me. FM transmitters are, well crap.

Has anyone sucessfully connected some type of adapter? I don't mind controlling the iPode from the iPod itself. Is their an auxilary out on the back of the Radio?

If I don't find a solution, then I will simply by a third party head unit. Does anyone have any recommendations for other head units?

Thanks in advance,
-Grant

The one I am using is FM based and a little loose because the boxsters lighter outlet is shallow. The transmitter sometimes turns off becauseit gets nudge or moves when I go canyon running. But overall it works great providing its FM. Ill give you the brand on next post

Default RE: iPod adapter?

I think I'm just going to have to replace the head unit with something from Best Buy or Crutchfield. I want to increase the sound quality anyway.

At this point I have a bigger problem! My radio will not turn on when the car is running. If I turn the car off it will power on and play normally. Every blue moon it will turn on while the car is on. It may stay on for the entire drive or it might turn off and on by itself. It seems to be a wiring short or something. Has anyone else experienced this?

Help please!
-Grant
