More horse power

Default More horse power

hey for all u gear heads is there any way to produce more horse power from a 1999 boxster without a whole lot of money?? is a chip this best way to go? thanx

you could re-map the vehicle's current ECU... or if you want to buy a newone... but you can do your job by remapping the current ECU... is it a 2.5L?

ya it is the 2.5L how hard is it to remap the ECU and is it easily accecable?

The ECU can be remapped through the OBD port with GIAC software. It is not something you are going to be able to do yourself. I think our flashes run about $895 for the boxster. Good for 8-10hp.

Theres nothing you can do that is very cheap to add horsepower. Exhaust and chipping don't add that much and are not that cheap. We supercharged one. Added about 100hp.
