I have just acquired my first in what i hope is a long list of Porsches...

I have a 1998 2.5 Boxster which has done 100,000 miles

I have noticed the following problems and would appreciated any help anyone can offer...

1) The car seems to pull back under acceleration... pulls back between 2k-3.5k revs, but flys after 3.5k... this happens more when the car is cold but still happens every now and again when car is fully warmed up...

2) The car can smell of petrol every so often... no leaks or patches noticable either in the car or on the floor after car has been parked or idled for some time...

Any help/suggestions would be hugely appreciated...
