Default Mystery

Recently, my wife's 2000 Boxster (121,000 miles) wouldn't start, was told the oil seperator was cracked, which was replaced along with oil fill pipe and oil fill tube. This didn't fix anything, car would start when cold but may or may not start after warmed up.

Then I was told that the crankshaft speed sensor needed to be replaced. This apparently fixed the starting problem but now car hesitates and shudders while accelerating. It felt like the engine is missing.

Told car needed new plugs, ignition coils, sleeves, and seals. This didn't fix anything.

Told the transmission fluid needed to be changed, this didn't fix anything either.

Told that the lurching would be minimal if used manual option, this helps but problem persists.

The mass air flow filter, all oxygen sensors are less than a year old. There are no fault codes and no check engine light. Car runs good at constant speed above 40 MPH, shuddering problem occurs while accelerating.

I'm $2000 poorer and my Porsche mechanic doesn't have a clue without fault codes to chase. Got any suggestions?

As always, many thanks in advance - rPm
