Default Newbie question regarding cams and gaskets

Hi all,

I am new to the forums. I am a 19 year-old college student from northern california, soon to sell his mustang and looking to pick up another car (most likely 944, or BMW 3-series, E36 or E46).

anyway, I got offered a great deal on a boxster, which, as Porsches run in my blood, I got very excited about.

The owner claims it is in good shape, but that it needs new cams and gasket. How much would it be to replace these? I know it's a pain to do by oneself (what isn't on a Porsche?), and most likely quite pricey, but could anyone give me an estimate as to how much this would cost me?

Thank you everyone,
-Brady

Wow, needs new cams? Expect about 3-4k to do the top end.

Ahh, I was afraid of that. That puts the car out of my price range.

thanks for the help, PorscheDoc!
