Default Tuning aftermarket HID xenon headlights

I've installed a set of these in the past week on my 2001 Boxster (Under $170). Look really nice and wasn't that much work. However, the light pattern leaves something to be desired. I'd like to move the beams laterally, but that lateral motion screw is a joke. It just moves the lights up and down like the up/down screw does. Not a pinch to the right or left.

Another thing is the focus which seems to be determined by how far the bulb fits into the headlight (into the little metal can in there). I'm giving thought to installing a homemade spacer between the bulb seat and the headlight fixture to, in essence, move the bulb sightly rearward. Does anybody know how this would affect the light disbursement??? I'm guessing that the light will increase, but how and where?

Bob
