High Mileage Cayman S 109,000 Miles
Anyone have experience with Cayman S over 100,000 miles? Im buying a 2006, standard transmission from a Ford dealer who has had it listed for 3 months and probably can't sell it because of the miles.

Wish I had joined in June instead of August to let you know of my experience with my 07 base Cayman. Purchased it with 10000 miles, now has 126000 and counting. Really, just now starting to show some age (pads and rotors, tie rod ends. Not much else.), call it patina. Take it to a reputable mechanic and pay for an independent evaluation if the dealer will allow it. I've had many mechanics say a car is a car, and that they can fix anything. Be sure before you buy. If everything is in order, there's nothing to fear. I've driven my car every day since I bought it, sometimes taking 100 miles to buy milk. I have driven the past three winters with no problems (but a good set of snow tires), it goes like crazy in the snow. Properly maintained, extremely reliable, had stranded me only once in 7 years (ignition coil). Make the best deal you can, then drive it like you stole it, cuz you probably will!
Who knows why the dealer can't sell it. Maybe it's the miles, or that it's a Ford dealer, or a combination of both. A proper second opinion will calm the mind and might even give you ammo to hammer home a good deal.
