I am looking at a 1997 911 993 non turbo 95k miles.I took it for a test drive and it feels great. When I got out of the car I noticed what sounded like a lifter knock coming from the drivers side lower part of the engine. Any opinions ?????

 

More than likely just a noisy valve train, but it is hard to know without hearing it in person.

 

Thank You for your opinion. I have actually made the purchase. This has the tiptronic trans. In automatic mode it seems like it wants to shift EXTREMLY fast ( 4th gear by 40MPH.) Is this a common caracteristic or is there a possible computer/vacuum problem ?? Thanks AGAIN !!
