Who all has a Tiptronic?

RE: Who all has a Tiptronic?
I have a Tip and love it. It is a great transmission, very smart if you learn how to use its features, and fun when you want to shift yourself. But then I've changed as I age: when I was in my 20s I drove an Alfa Montreal with a racing non-syncro gearbox and loved it, then went through years and years where I wanted only a manual trans.but appreciated having a synchro gearbox. ButI bought the Tip in '04 and love it -- the Porsche is often a daily driver and it's great to have an option to make it shift itself in traffic, etc. Continuing the trend towards total non-involvement with the car I'm in, I recently bought the Lincoln and one thing I liked was it has no paddle shifters or auto shift: I put it in "D" and the car decides when and where to shift. No doubt, pretty soon I'll probably own a car that drives itself, too: "Home, Jeeves."

If you check the dealer listing, there is way more stick than tip. It is true that a lot more people like the stick but there are also people looking for tip too. I have tip on the Boxster S. traffic is the main reason, daily drive is another reason, my wife does not drive stick and the third reason. I like it the fact that I can change the gear anytime even I am in automatic, Porsche's tip is way better than some other car's design. That is my 2 cents.
