Default 911 radio/cd player problem

I have recently purchased a Carrera 911 and everything is great, except yesterday I turned on the car and my stereo/radio is asking me for a 4 digit "code"; I tried some random numbers but after 3 tries it reads "Wait" and after about 30 minutes or so it asks for "Code" once again. I would appreciate if anybody could maybe explain to me why this is so. Thanks.

Had this problem on a 944 with a CDR 210 in it. The system came new with this code. It is usually on a "code card" somewhere in the owners kit. Every time you lose electrical power or disconnect the battery or the battery gets weak, you must re-enter the code. I found my code written in black felt marker on the bottom of the system. Look through your paperwork, manuals etc or try to call the previous owner. He wrote it down somewhere.

Thanks for the info, I will look for the code card in the cars documents.

If you can't find the card, the dealer can look it up through serial number.
