Hi Cycodelico7, have a look at some of the earlier posts in this forum about adding a turbo to an S2 engine. From what I have read, most think it's a waist of time and/or money and it's a pointless task!

Why do you want to turbo an S2 my friend? Is it not fast enough already? I'm sure (judging by these past posts) that you will be mocked if you keep asking any questions about this subject.

I know this may sound just as bad, but have a look at the recent posts about fitting a Chevy V8 in a 944...you will get taken alot more seriously asking about that (I think)?

Maybe I'm wrong, but if the likes of Plonkington etc have their two cents worth, I'm sure it will.

WELCOME TO THE FORUM ANYHOW!

Hmmm S2 turbo is a little different project than a 2.5NA to turbo. 3.0 turbo project would be pretty interesting. Not cheap, but a fun project. In europe they had a few 968 turbo's running around which had the 3.0 turbo in it. I have seen a few guys do 3.0L turbos and are pushing big horsepower, well over 450 to the wheels.

You're the expert PorscheDoc, but I thought the 968 turbo was only an 8 valve and not a 16 valve?[sm=smiley24.gif]

You are correct in that the 968 turbo was an 8v. I was just trying to show that 3.0L engine has been turbo'd in both the 968 (8V) by porsche and the 3.0 S2 (16V) by many enthusiasts.

Easy killer, i don't think i said anything disrespectful, if you go back and read, i was in favor of the project. If you want more help, you are going to need to dig into the knowledge over at rennlist. I have never personally done a 3.0 turbo, and there are some over there who have, so that is your best bet.

There is a post over there right now about adding a turbo to a 3.0L. Estimates are $12-20k to do the engine. Look up powerhaus, they do a conversion.

Hi Cycodelico7,

Sorry, I didn't mean to upset you. I was just saying that judging by earlier post on this forum, whenever the subject of Turbocharging/Supercharging an 944 engine, the posts would turn into a slagging match! (Just check out past posts).

I can't give you any technical advice, (Useless, I know![&o]) my fortay is more model history. The good news is, PorscheDoc knows his thing, so any advice he gives you about this I'd take as good![sm=burnout.gif]

Good luck anyhow....by the way, what body are you thinking of putting it in?
