convertable top motor issues
Hi, I am new to the forum.
My '98 911 Cabriolet top did not retract all the way last night and seemed out of alignment.
I followed the manual and loosened the two bolts which allows me to open and close it manually.
The header motors that lock the top to the windshield work fine and if I continue to hold the button I can hear the motor in the back running but the shaft that engages the top frame does not turn.
Is there a gear inside that can be replaced?
Do I need to replace the whole motor?
Are there two motors (one on each side) that lift and retract the top?
This looks like a DYI as long as special tools are not required.
Thanking the forum and it's resources in advance.
