Default Flywheel Repair Cost? 2004 911

I just found out that the flywheel need to be replaced on my 2004 911. I wan to make sure that I'm getting charged a fair price. Does anyone know how much it should cost for parts and labor. Also, at 35K I'm surprised that I have to replace the flywheel? Does that sound strange?

On the C2/4 and boxsters the dual mass flywheel would occasionally go bad, but it was rare. A new flywheel is around $1000 IIRC. Don't mistake it for machining the flywheel which is done when you do the clutch, and is anywhere from 100-200 for a dual mass unit.
