Default running lights inoperative

hello, i have a 1983 porsche 944 whose running lights will not operate... i checked the bulbs and they are fine and I also checked the circuit breakers and they appeart to be fine as well. I am stumped and fustrated and hoping if anyone has a clue as to what to do or what the promblem may be to please respond.

You say the circuit breakers (I assume you mean fuses) appear to be fine; they may look okay but sometimes they can burn open near the case edge and an open circuit may not be apparent. You really need to get a multimeter and check for 12 volts at the bulbs. If not there you should use the meter to check the fuses for continuity (ohms check).
