hey guys,

my car also keeps popping out of second when i slow down and take my foot off gas pedal. its the only gear where this happens. I was told maybe my synchro has to be replaced. If that is the case does that require the removal of the transmission. Im gonna do the clutch anyway.

The 2nd gear issue is somewhat common, and not a cheap fix unfortunately. It typically requires replacement of the main shaft, 1st and 2nd gears and synchros, etc. Most people just replace the transmission assembly (dealer will just put in a new tranny, not rebuild the current one). There has been talk about a class action lawsuit on this issue, but I don't think anything has come of it yet.
