I have a dead 2001 Boxster S; how do i get the hood to open w/o a charge???

Open the fuse panel and pull out the red terminal. apply 12v power to it, and it will open.

If your car does not have the red terminal, then you must pull the passenger front wheel well liner and look for the emergency release cable.
