944 odometer...

first off, i dont own this car yet, but im looking into a 1984 944 and the only thing wrong or inoperable about it is the odometer. it just doesnt work, i was told that this is a fairly common problem so there has to be a quick fix right?

It is fairly common, but will need to be sent out to be repaired by a specialist most likely (North hollywood speedometer)

They break because owners try and reset them while the car is travelling! Always make sure the car is stationary before pressing the reset button!
