Default Hello everyone

Just wanted to drop in and say hi, I just joined the forums. I don't own a Porsche (just turned 16) but I desperatly want one. I'll be buying my first car in a few years and if all goes well, I have my eye on a 944 S2. But I've also noticed that the price for an early model Boxster has really gone down. If that gets below the $10k level, I'll be seriously interested. Now, is having a Porsche as a first car plausible? Or do I just have my head in the clouds...?

First car, pick up a 914 or 924. I would go 924, easy to work on, dirty cheap (sorry guys) and you will have fun restoring it, and etc.

I agree with 9magazine. The 924 would be a good first car and less expensive.

Meh, the 924 is more of an Audi than a Porsche, and I've heard bad things about their reliability. Plus it's just sadly underpowered. 95 hp?? I mean I know Porsches aren't dragsters, and that's not what I'm looking for. But I want at least a little punch to it. The 944 S2 is around 212 hp I think, which is MUCH better.

You should be able to find a good 944 in that price range. Just don't let BMW550sport talk you into buying a BMW!
