I am shopping for a nice low mileage 911 Carrera, probably 1999-2003 model as I want to stay below $40K. I am a 62 yr. old retired Army Colonel about to retire for a second time from a second career. I've been driving BMWs since the early 80s when I was stationed in Germany. Have always wanted a Porsche and now with no kids and no commute, I'm ready to take the plunge. I've located what looks to be a low mileage one owner Carrera 4 cabrio with 21K miles. Dealer is in Florida, I'm in Maryland. He is a native German, has good feedback on ebay and provided me with the Carfax on the car. It is clean, confirms it is a one owner car that was originally purchased in PA, then spend several years in NC with the same owner and then was bought at auction by the current dealer. It is a 6 speed manual, Lapis Blue/Tan, no hardtop. It is priced at $35K but I have not started any negotiation. Any advice or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.
