Default New considering Porsche

Hey guys, I dont have a Porsche yet.. what I like to do is come on forums to do research on the car Id like to purchase.. however at this point Im not sure I will even purchase a Porsche and if so what model.

Basically Id have about $30K to spend on preferably a 911 in the early to mid 2000, Ive been looking on autotrader and cars.com and there are many options, some even newer and some obvious scams.

The other car I'd be looking at is a 2007 Corvette.. (let the flame begin)

basically Im about buying the best sports car I can for the money I am willing to spend..

What Im here for is really to see if the older 911 will outweigh a newer Corvette, cause thats the only thing that concerns me with the Porsche.. its already 10 yrs old

I'd recommend the 'vette (I've owned both) - it will be bulletproof and low cost to maintain. Well maintained they will give good service if they are '06-'07s. A ten-year old Porsche will cost a lot to maintain - $30K can't really get you a great one to live with unless you think you will have a good cash stream for service and repairs it might need.

Another car to really look at would be a Nissan 370 - you might find some very recent ones you can afford and they are quite nice.

Hey Willis thanks for that info.. it really means something when it comes from a guy who's owned both cars... I was thinking of the 370z but really the Vette just destroys it in every aspect I think.. looks, performance.. etc.

I didnt think the Porsche would be cheap to maintaine, but was hoping being a Porsche it would be "bulletproof" also.. But I guess every car with age goes..

I did also notice thta 30K doesnt get you much of a Porsche.. I mean I got excited a little becuase of the scams on cars.com... those people should be shot

Like you said I think the Vette might be the way to go.
