Although I do not own a Porsche yet, I plan on purchasing one in a few months when everything settles. In the process of a career change so I do not want to mess anything up. Currently, I drive a 2003 CLK55 AMG. I plan on buying a 6-speed yellow 996 turbo (I really like the 996 style over the 997 for some reason). So if anyone has a good deal on one of these, I would love to hear about it. I am still undecided on either the coupe or cabriolet.

Welcome aboard. There is no shame in owning an AMG Merc. I have 2 Mercedes but not AMGs
I know what you mean about the appearance of the 996 over the 997. I share your opinion.
I'm very happy with the Carrera 2, I like the slim hips that are missing on the Carrera 4. You might want to look over a slim hipped GT3 (Comfort Pack). But without a doubt the 996 Icon has to be the Turbo or even better the Turbo S, then the wider rear end has a point to it!
