Default radio on cayenne s 2004

hi all,

i am a new and proud and excited porsche owner.

have had problems with my 2004 cayenne radio; as i drive with a pre-set station automatically jumps to another station. it seems it automatically finds a stronger station. i disabled the "traffic program" yet it still does this. i went to dealer and they ran all programs on the computer and they are in process of calling porsche because there is no computer problem indicating the radio has a bug.

so,

how do i have stations preset and left alone even if signal gets weaker.??
'
i appreciate any input

Welcome to the forum.

I wish I could help you but I have little I can add. the radio in my Carrera never does that. It seems based on what I hear that Cayennes seem to have more than their fair share of "demons" like this.

If all else fails, you could try disconnecting the battery overnight and then re-connecting it in the morning. Sometimes, bizarre "software" bugs like this can be killed by doing that type of "hard re-boot."

Hi, I don't have any advice for causes but I do have a similar problem with my '01 Boxster CDR-220 radio --- randomly skips between both pre-set radio stations and also other radio stations that aren't pre-set. Similar things happen with CD's as well (ie, skipping forward & backward between songs). I'm tempted to capture this on video with a little camera and take it to the Service folks to offer them 'proof' of the problem -regardless of what their 'diagnostic' tools tell them (OK, I'ma big cynic when it comes to getting response from service folks).Pictures tell a 1000 words (hopefully). I'm hoping this will be a warranty-repair. Replacing the Radio with a new one didn't help? That's a bit troubling.
