I've noticed that certain posts and threads just disappear here, randomly as far as i can see. Strange . . .

 

I have to delete a ton of spam posts. I probably have to delete half a dozen users a day. Their current gig is to make a first post that sounds somewhat human, but put a link in their signature to their website where they are selling something. I let things slide for people who contribute to the forum, but those with only a few posts who obviously have other agendas are going to be canned.

I can see everyone's IP address, so that helps in determining what is spam as well. When I delete a spammer's account and post, it will also delete anyone's post who has replied to them.

 

I suppose it is a neverending battle with each side escalating the tools it uses. I notice spammers and more and more frequently getting through all the firewalls I have on my e-mail, too.
