I purchased a 03-911 from ebay last year with 58k miles. With less than 2k mi driven engine developed tapping sound, dealer advised possible intermediate shaft failure and needs replacement. Dealer also advised engine had been replaced once but warranty is not transferable. Questions-should I get a second opinion from another dealer before replacing engine? If new engine warranty not transferable wouldn't it be wise to sell as is so the new owner will get the warranty ?
