Question 03 911 turbo Plan to buy

Gentlemen,

I am new to the forum. I plan on picking up a car next week from my local porsche/audi dealer. I was attracted to the 2010 audi S5 but saw an 03 911 turbo with 22k on it. List price is $57,000.00 Is this a fair price or should I try to move the dealer.

Also what problems do I have to look out for?

I would love the porsche but the S5 is brand new and would have a warranty.

Help me make a decision!

Thanks,

Joe

Default Small World

Just sold my 09 Audi S5 today after picking up my 996 TT in Memphs.
IMO, $57K is high, especially considering the mileage (assume it isn't CPO)...shop around you can do better or offer them $50K and see if they bite. For my 996, near showroom, 6,900 miles and CPO thru 11/11, I paid $55.5K...and I consider that about $1500 over priced. But WTF, he wouldn't move on his price and I loved the car. We had a 950 mile bonding session for the drive back to my house.

Default Go to Edmunds...

Think they're formla for estimates is a bit low considering what I've seen in the market, but this should give you a ball park price. IMO, $55K is a bit high...my guess would be that they paid mid-high $40s for the trade

I have a buddy who was going to sell his 03 996TT with 33k miles on it for $45k via private sale. He decided to just trade it to the dealer on his new gt3 build since they offered him 40k and he just has to hand it over, no drama. Guarantee they will list the car for 50-55k.

IMHO, unless you are getting a CPO car, then don't bother buying from a dealer. They really mark up used cars a ton over finding one in a private sale.

Are you talking about just the lower lip spoiler that clips onto the lower part of the front bumper? I usually get those from Sunset Porsche out in Oregon, they sell cheap. IIRC they are only about 100 bucks.
