1976 Porsche 911
I am extremely new to Porsche, as well as cars in general, and I'm looking for a little prodding in the right direction. I'm looking at buying a 1976 Porsche 911 for $7000, but I'm at a loss as to where to find out information about whether or not I'm getting a good deal. If anyone could point me to a place where I can read up on this car so I can learn what to look for and what questions to ask about the car I would appreciate it. I'm specifically looking for things on maintenance, MPG and things of that nature.

RE: 1976 Porsche 911
I was looking at a 77' which ended up having a lot of issues so I passed on the deal. From what I have learned I would stick with an 84' or newer. Something to do with the head studs pulling out of the block; which I believe was magnesium in that generation. I bought a 84' Carrera which was the first year of the 3.2 motor and I could'nt be happier! If you really want that car I would suggest, at the very least, taking the car to a respected mechanic and have it checked out.
