Just pulled my tranny. She runs great shifts up well but when I downshift from 5th to 4th she grinds and won't downshift. Downshifting to other grears is fine. I do not know how long it has been that way as I bought the car as such.

I would like to repair it myself. Can anyone give me an idea of what needs replaced or any other insightful advice.

What does your clutch look like?

If it is the tranny, then it probably needs new synchros.

And if you have never rebuilt a tranny before......good luck.
